Canoe Trekking

Overview of Silverback’s Canoe Trekking & Mountain Hiking- Lake Bunyonyi

Silverback’s canoe trekking is a combination of dugout canoeing and lakeside hiking around Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mutanda in the southwest of Uganda. We have experienced tour guides who take you through the communities and interesting sceneries of Kigezi.

During our flagship 3-day canoe trek (USD 120) you get to know all major islands and the great Karembe Hill, stay with local families at Kyevu and on Habukomi Island, meet Batwa “Pygmies” and admire volcano and lake views.
The 2-day canoe trek (USD 95) follows the three-day itinerary but finishes right after the second day hike, before Habukomi.

The 1-day canoe trek (USD 55) leads you to the peaks of the Kyabahinga peninsula for breathtaking views and introduces you to a nursery school, a herbalist and a craftmaker. It includes checking on two pretty islands.

The 5-hour canoe trek (USD 30) excludes food and island visits – but you get all their stories while enjoying the views from the Kyabahinga ridge after crossing the lake.

Tailor-made customised trips are available as well: feel free to inform us about your wishes, preferences and budget.
